What this extension does

Outreach Copilot reads job-posting and hiring-contact details from linkedin.com pages you're already viewing, and uses that text to draft an outreach message — a connection-request note, an InMail, or a reply to a job posting — written in your own voice using OpenAI.

What it reads

Only on linkedin.com pages, and only when you trigger it (opening the popup or panel, clicking "Re-scan," or clicking the on-page "Capture" button):

• Job posting text: title, company name, and full description.
• Hiring-team/recruiter info shown on the posting, or a profile's name, headline, and About section if you're viewing their profile.

It does not read your private messages, connections list, browsing history, or anything outside the LinkedIn tab you're using.

What it stores

Everything below is saved with the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local — on your device only, never synced to a Google account or any server, and readable only by this extension:

• Your OpenAI API key and model choice.
• Your name, background summary, writing samples, tone preference, and style notes (set in onboarding or Settings) — used to draft in your voice.
• Your appearance preference (Look/Mode).
• The most recently captured job description and hiring-contact info, so the popup has something to show without re-scanning.

You can clear all of this at any time by removing the extension, or by clearing its site data via chrome://extensions.

What it sends, and to whom

The only network request this extension makes is to api.openai.com, and only when you click Generate draft. That request contains the job/hiring-contact text currently in the fields, your writing-style settings, and your OpenAI API key (sent as your own authentication, the same as if you called the API yourself) — sent directly from your browser to OpenAI, using your own API key. Usage is billed to your OpenAI account at OpenAI's rates; this extension does not bundle, proxy, resell, or have any visibility into that billing.

Nothing is sent to the extension's developer, to LinkedIn, or to any analytics or advertising service. There is no tracking, no telemetry, and no third party involved besides OpenAI, and only when you explicitly generate a draft.

Data is never sold

No data collected or read by this extension is sold, rented, or used for purposes unrelated to drafting your message — including advertising, credit/lending decisions, or building user profiles.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change too. Material changes will also be reflected in the extension's version notes on its GitHub repository.
